Q: How do I register to bid?
A: Click the “Register” link in the menu or GO HERE
Q: How does bidding work?
A: The auction takes a “maximum bid” format. When placing a bid, insert the maximum amount you are willing to pay. The system will then bid on your behalf in increments of $0.10 until your maximum bid is reached. NOTE: Equipment / Services have automatic bid increments of $1. More information on Automatic Bidding from eBay.
Q: What methods of payment do you accept?
A: We accept check, credit card (Visa, MC, Amex, and Discover) and PayPal.
Q: Am I responsible for paying for shipping the coffee?
A: YES! All prices are quoted ex-warehouse and do not include the cost of shipping from the warehouse to your location. Once you have paid your invoice it will be your responsibility to contact the importer and have your coffee shipped to your final destination of choice.
Hint: The warehouse location is listed with each lot of coffee, so if you want to save on shipping, bid on those coffees warehoused closest to you.
Q: Will the importer contact me to arrange shipping?
A: No, it is your responsibility to arrange shipping with the importer. IMPORTANT: after paying Grounds for Health, you must arrange shipping within 5 business days or risk forfeiting winnings to the next highest bidder.
Q: How do I know who to contact about shipping my coffee?
A: After you pay, we will contact you with the name and information for each lot of coffee you purchased. Often if you purchase several lots, the coffee will be warehoused in different locations, you will need to contact the person in each location to arrange shipping.
Q: Do all importers warehouse their coffee in the same location?
A: No, some importers only have one warehouse, but many of the bigger guys have multiple warehouses through out the country. Just because the importer is based in one state does not mean that is were the coffee will be shipped from.
Hint: Check the warehouse location when determining the shipping location of your coffee, not the importer location.
Q: What happens if I bid on a lot and then decide I don’t want it?
A: By bidding on a lot of coffee, you are entering into a contract obligating you to pay for your coffee. If you do not want the coffee, you may find another individual to purchase it from you, but you must still pay for your committed lot(s).
Q: Will all of the lots be available for shipment right after the auction?
A: No. So as to give you the freshest product with the greatest diversity some lots may not be available for shipment for several months, depending on their harvest time. Availability is listed for each lot.
Hint: The date of availability will be listed with each lot of coffee, so check carefully if you don’t want to wait for you beans.
Q: I want to do more with my coffee purchase, how do I become a financial donor to GFH?
A: You have a few options, you may do an in store promotion (click here to learn more) or , you can make a straight financial contribution, or you can get creative.
